Privacy policy

How Progressive Immigration Services Inc. collects, uses, discloses, protects, retains and provides access to personal information.

Effective October 5, 2026 · Version privacy-2026-10-05

1. Scope and accountability

This policy applies to personal information under the control of Progressive Immigration Services Inc. in connection with this website, preliminary assessments, consultation bookings, communications and immigration or citizenship services. Progressive is accountable for personal information under its control, including information transferred to a service provider for processing.

Our designated Privacy Officer is Reza Nosraty. For privacy inquiries, access requests and complaints, email privacy@progressive-immigration.com or write to Privacy Officer, Progressive Immigration Services Inc., 210-45 B West Wilmot St., Richmond Hill, ON L4B 2P3, Canada.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on the service, Progressive may collect identity and contact information; current country and immigration-service interest; limited preliminary assessment answers; correspondence; appointment date, meeting method and brief context; mailing address required for the written consultation agreement; payment method, amount, tax and payment-status metadata; consent date, policy version and technical evidence; and information needed to provide an agreed professional service.

The public contact, assessment and booking forms instruct visitors not to submit passport numbers, payment-card details, documents or detailed protection narratives. If sensitive documents are required after intake, Progressive provides separate secure instructions and obtains appropriate consent.

3. Sources of information

Progressive generally receives personal information directly from the individual or an authorized person. With authority or as permitted by law, information may also come from family members, employers, schools, designated organizations, government departments and tribunals, former representatives, experts, translators, financial institutions or other parties involved in a matter.

4. Purposes

Progressive uses personal information to respond to inquiries; screen conflicts and service fit; conduct preliminary assessments; schedule, confirm, reschedule and cancel consultations; process payments, HST, refunds and accounting records; deliver consultation summaries and recommendations; establish and perform a retainer; communicate about a file; comply with professional, tax, accounting, security and legal obligations; prevent fraud and misuse; respond to privacy requests; and maintain evidence of consent and transactions.

Progressive does not use assessment or client contact information to add a person to a newsletter or marketing list without separate consent that satisfies Canada’s anti-spam requirements.

5. Consent and choices

Progressive seeks meaningful consent appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the reasonable expectations of the individual, except where collection, use or disclosure without consent is permitted or required by law. Consent may be express or implied where legally appropriate.

An individual may withdraw consent for optional future uses, subject to legal, contractual and professional restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawal does not reverse uses or disclosures already lawfully made and may prevent Progressive from continuing a requested service.

6. Service providers and processing locations

Progressive may use service providers for Canadian web hosting, WordPress administration, email delivery, spam and abuse prevention, hosted card checkout, video meetings, document exchange, backups, security monitoring and accounting. Depending on the approved configuration and feature used, providers may include WHC, Cloudflare Turnstile, Stripe, Google Meet or Zoom and approved email or security vendors.

A provider may process or make information accessible outside the individual’s province or outside Canada, where it may be subject to the laws and lawful access processes of that jurisdiction. Contact our Privacy Officer for information about the providers and processing arrangements relevant to your information.

7. Payments

Card payments are processed through Stripe’s secure payment interface. Progressive records transaction identifiers, method, amount, tax, status and refund information needed for the booking and accounting, but Progressive does not store full payment-card numbers or security codes in its website records. Interac e-Transfer records may include the booking reference, payer information shown with the transfer and return-email information supplied for a refund.

8. Cookies and website technology

The website may use essential cookies or local browser storage for security, form operation, booking state and administrator sessions. Cloudflare Turnstile and hosted payment or video services may receive technical information such as IP address, browser, device and request data when their feature is used.

Optional analytics, advertising pixels and non-essential tracking are subject to the applicable notice and consent choices. You can review or change available cookie choices through the website’s cookie settings.

9. Disclosure

Progressive may disclose personal information to authorized employees and licensees, service providers, government departments and tribunals, experts or other participants where necessary for the identified purpose, with consent or as permitted or required by law. Progressive does not sell personal information.

If a potential Federal Court judicial-review matter is identified, information is shared with independent Canadian legal counsel only with authority or another lawful basis.

10. Safeguards

Progressive uses administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity, volume, format and location of the information. Measures may include role-based access, separate operational records, authentication, encryption in transit, secure payment pages, anti-spam and rate controls, backups, update and vulnerability procedures, staff confidentiality, audit records and secure disposal.

No internet or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Individuals should use the designated secure process and avoid sending sensitive information through ordinary email or public forms.

11. Retention and disposal

Progressive retains personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the identified purpose and applicable professional, legal, tax, accounting, limitation, insurance and dispute obligations. Retention depends on the record category, including non-client inquiries, abandoned unpaid bookings, consultation records, client files, payment and refund records, consent evidence, security logs, backups and privacy-breach records. Contact our Privacy Officer for information about the retention requirements applicable to your records.

Eligible non-client or abandoned unpaid records may be anonymized. Potential-client, consultation, payment, refund, accounting and client records are referred to the Privacy Officer before deletion where preservation duties may apply. Secure deletion or anonymization is used when retention is no longer required.

12. Access, correction and deletion requests

An individual may make a written request to learn whether Progressive holds personal information about them, obtain access to eligible information, understand its use or disclosure, and request correction. Progressive verifies identity before responding. Access may be limited by legal exceptions, professional duties and information concerning other people.

A deletion request is assessed against applicable preservation duties. When information cannot be deleted, Progressive explains the basis where permitted and limits use to the required purpose. The WordPress privacy tools support verified export and erasure review for website lead and booking records.

13. Privacy incidents

Progressive investigates suspected privacy incidents, contains and documents them, evaluates the sensitivity of the information and probability of misuse, and notifies affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada where PIPEDA requires. Records of security-safeguard breaches are maintained for the legally required period even when the reporting threshold is not met.

14. Commercial electronic messages

Newsletters and promotional electronic messages are sent only with consent or another valid basis under Canada’s anti-spam law. Messages identify the sender and include a working unsubscribe mechanism. Unsubscribe requests are acted on while retaining only the suppression information reasonably needed to honour the request and demonstrate compliance. Service, booking, payment and file communications are managed separately from optional marketing.

15. Children and family information

Immigration matters may involve information about children or other family members. Progressive limits collection to what is reasonably necessary and uses heightened care for sensitive information. A parent, guardian or authorized representative may be required to provide consent or authority depending on the person’s age, capacity and circumstances.

16. Questions, complaints and external recourse

Direct privacy questions, access or correction requests and complaints to Reza Nosraty at privacy@progressive-immigration.com or the mailing address in section 1. Progressive investigates and responds to privacy complaints through its internal process. If a concern is not resolved, an individual may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or another privacy regulator with jurisdiction.

17. Changes and version

This policy is effective October 5, 2026, version privacy-2026-10-05. Material changes are posted before they apply, and additional consent is obtained where required for a new use or disclosure. Consent records retain the policy version accepted at the time of a form or booking.
